Sustainability
We cannot change the world on our own, but we can make our contribution to it.
Consumers, and therefore our customers too, increasingly critically scrutinise the quality of products with regard to their manufacture. The price of a product often gives an indication of the conditions in which production took place. We want to position ourselves clearly here and bear responsibility for the safety and social standards within production facilities. Our products are manufactured with excellent value for money. In order to live up to our responsibilities, however, we steer clear of the dumping prices of some of our competitors.
Social responsibility
As a fixed component of contracts with our business partners, our Supplier Code of Conduct [CoC] serves as a basis for all our purchasing activities.
As an international company, we are committed to the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) standards as well as other initiatives to improve social working conditions in global value chains. For this reason we ensure compliance with internationally defined standards of socially responsible production and likewise we choose our production partners according to ethical aspects.
The Supplier CoC is rooted in international conventions such as the International Bill of Human Rights and the core labour standards of the International Labour Organisation and defines clear guidelines for all our business partners to avoid adverse social impacts along our supply chain. All our business partners must accept the minimum requirements contained in the Supplier CoC and ensure these standards are implemented along their own supply chains.
Violation of our Supplier CoC leads to immediate action or in serious cases to a termination of the business relationship.
Environmental responsibility
Peacock Textiles is committed and dedicated to sustainability and ecology at all process levels.
In the field of environmental ecology, the main risks include the topics of greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, the waste of resources, the emission of pollution and excessive waste production. We make our contribution by setting an appropriate minimum environmental standard when choosing our partners.
In addition, in consultations with our customers we promote the use of alternative environmentally friendly materials such as Cotton MADE IN AFRICA (CmiA), GOTS-certified cotton and GRS Global recycled standard certified materials
